Rainbow - We're going on a Bear Hunt

This week we have started 'Drawing Club' which is a new way to bring stories, writing and talk into the classroom. The children will learn 8 new exciting words and base our work around a story or animation. This week it has been The Three Little Pigs.

The children had great fun exploring pumpkins and squashes. They used their senses to describe the smell, touch and look of the pumpkins and squashes. They then worked on their fine motor skills hammering golf tees into the pumpkins with hammers, the children were very careful and sensible!

The children also went on a walk around the school, matching the things that happen in the story of We are going on a bear hunt to things at school, like the dark forest and the squelching mud.

In RE, we learnt about Diwali and we made our own Diva lamps.

In Maths, we have learnt about the number 5. We know that we have 5 fingers on our hand without counting them.

Keep practicing those sounds at home, the children are doing very well with them. It is lovely to hear so many children beginning to segment and blend words, so thankyou for your support at home too.
