Rainbow - Week 1 - ABC's Of What I Can Be

Happy New Year and welcome back, we hope you had a lovely break. 

Our topic this term is, People Who Help Us. The children spoke about what jobs they might like to be when they are older. We have lots of budding ballerina, builders, teacher and doctors amongst other careers!!

Our book for Drawing Club this week has been 'Where the Wild Things Are'. The children are starting to write simple 'I am...' sentences, and they are all really trying, which is amazing to see.

In Maths, the children have been learning about height and length. The children have really enjoyed this topic and were enthusiastic with their learning. We used the words taller/shorter and longer/shorter to compare the length and heights.

In RE, we spoke about the three wise men that came to Jesus and bought gifts with them. The children shared ideas of what gifts they would bring Jesus and why, there were some interesting ones!

In PE, we have enjoyed some Cosmic Kids Yoga, moving and stretching our bodies.

In phonics, we have started learning our digraphs, the first two were 'qu' and 'ch', as well as two new tricky words 'by' and 'she'
