Rainbow - Week 3 - My Mum

This week our work will be based on the book 'My Mum' by Anthony Browne. We will be thinking about what our mums do for us (or other special adults). We will be starting Drawing Club for the first time.

In phonics, we will be learning our first three phonemes s, a, t and there will be videos on Google Classroom on Friday to show you how to support your child with the phonics.

We will be focusing on subitising in maths (knowing how many without counting).

In Religious Education we will be thinking about how God gave us our families as a special gift, and we will be talking about ways that we can show our love for our families.

Rainbow Week 3 - My Mum

This week, the children have made a brilliant start with their first Phase 2 phonics sounds. They have been so enthusiastic, quickly picking up the new letters and enjoying forming them in lots of different ways – from sparkling glitter to fun materials and colourful pens.

In art, they loved experimenting with shades of red, carefully mixing white, black, and red to discover how many different tones they could create. The children also finished their self-portraits – they look fantastic!

In RE, we learnt that God made our families. The children enjoyed representing their own families in creative ways – through drawings, playdough, wooden shapes, and Multilinks.

It's been a busy week, but it's been lovely to see the children's confidence grow as they explore new things.
