Sunshine Week 8 - Jack and the Beanstalk

This week started with a science workshop with Fab Science. The children learned all about liquids and gasses. They watched some amazing experiments and had a chance to put their goggles on and have a go. It will be Science Week next week.

Our Drawing Club book was The Little Red Hen - the animals would not help with all the work involved in making the bread and they got their just desserts when they didn't get to eat any. We made bread in class and all the children helped which meant they all got to share the bread. We are continuing to work on capital letters, finger spaces and full stops in our writing.

In the forest we attempted to make nests, it seemed that some of the children were making a nest for an ostrich!

For World Book Day we all made special badges that had our favourite books represented on them. Their Year 5 buddies came into class and they talked to the children about their favourite books and read some stories.

As part of our topic we have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk this week. The children planted beans and we are going to watch them grow.

In maths we have been comparing and thinking about which numbers are more than 5 and which are smaller. We have been practising 1 more and are hoping to move on to one less.

Mothering Sunday was the focus of our Religious Education and the children had a secret mission!
