My name is Fr. Pius Asuquo Duke MSP and I was born in Jos, in Northern Nigeria.
I trained for the priesthood at the National Missionary Seminary of St Paul, Abuja, where I studied philosophy and theology for 7 years.
At the end of my formation, I was ordained a priest in the Missionary Society of Paul on June 25th, 2011. My first pastoral assignment was in the diocese of Lafia, Nigeria.
After a year, I was posted to the republic of Chad in Central Africa for Missionary work. I had the privilege of learning French and the local dialect of Sara, which served of immense help in my ministry. My pastoral ministry in Chad can be described as really challenging yet, with much to cherish. Youth Ministry was a special part of my life especially among the poor school kids in rural areas.
In 2017, I was posted to the UK to serve as an assistant parish priest and chaplain to the Catholic Students of the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield.
Having spent barely 2 months in Hatfield, I was appointed a Foundation Governor to St Philip Howard Nursery /Primary School.
The opportunities offered through my service as a foundation governor, will enable me to develop enormous skills and resources needed to advance in life and to push on irrespective of life challenges. I very much look forward to working with the school and Board of Governors.
