Welcome to the Governors’ section of the website where you can find out more about the work that we do and who we are.
Our main role is to support the Headteacher and staff. We help them to set and reach targets and to strive for excellence across the whole spectrum of school life. The key documents used for this is the School Development Plan (SDP) and School Self Evaluation Form (SEF).
Our legal duties include:-
setting strategic direction, policies and objectives
approving the school budget
reviewing progress against the school's budget and objectives
appointing, challenging and supporting the Headteacher
The Governing Body meets at least 5 times during the academic year however most of the detailed work takes place in our committees and the link roles we have. The committees are:
Finance, Premises, Health & Safety
Admissions & Catholic Life
Governors are also linked to various areas of school life such as Safeguarding; RE; Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND); More able students; Pupil Premium and at each key stage.
The Governing Body is made up of:
Foundation Governors (appointed by the Diocese of Westminster)
Parent Governors (voted for by parents/carers)
Staff Governor (voted for by members of staff)
Local Authority Governor (appointed by the Local Authority)
Associate governors (appointed by the Governing Body)
