20th- 24th February - The Supermarket

The Supermarket

Goodness me it had been another fun packed busy week! We have started our new topic Ready Steady Grow. This week we were thinking about the supermarket,  we have been writing shopping lists, we visited Asda in small groups and have thought about how the food gets to the supermarket and where it comes from.

We introduced The Rainbow Challenge - each week there will be challenges that the children can complete in their own learning time. If they complete all the challenges they get a very special sticker at the end of the week. It has been writing shopping lists and finding ways to make 5 this week.

In Forest School we hunted for signs of Spring - we decided it is coming but not quite yet!

In our maths we have been using the vocabulary more than,  fewer than and equal.

Tuesday was Mardi Gras (Shrove Tuesday) and we celebrated by making masks and shakers and parading with the rest of the school at the end of the day.

Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and we had a special service where we all received ashes.

The slices of bread are for an experiment that we are doing - ask your child about it.

(I am missing photographs of one group at Asda - we are having trouble getting them off the camera, as soon as we have it sorted I will add them.
