The Library

A big thank you to all the parents that have been involved this week. It was lovely to have so many of you join us for the Stay and Read, there was such a buzz. A special thankyou to the parents who came to the library with us. We couldn't have done it without you.

It has been another very busy week and we have loved seeing the children making links with their learning and developing this in their play.

Literacy - The children made book covers of their favourite book and then brought favourite books into school later in the week. We enjoyed reading them and talking about them. The children loved the visit to Hatfield Library, it was very warm and welcoming, if you haven't been we strongly recommend spending some time there - and of course, it is completely free.

Maths - This week we have been looking at digits and recognising numbers to 5 as well as looking at the relationship between the numbers. We built towers of 1 - 5 and discovered that they look like stairs when you line them up in order, each one has one more.

Forest School - After our visit from the firefighters last week we decided we could safely make a fire in Forest School. The children were very good at following the instructions to ensure that they were safe. The adults roasted marshmallows for the children - yummy!

Religious Education - We have been thinking about people who are sick and how we could care for them. We made playdough cakes, flowers, Get Well Soon cards and wrote prayers.
