Jack and the Beanstalk

It has been lovely to see the children growing in confidence with their writing. They all had a go at writing a simple sentence in our Literacy lesson.

In Maths we have been looking at patterns in counting and have been counting all the way up to 30! We have also been thinking about how 6-10 can be calculated as 5 and some more.

We have been continuing to look for signs of Spring and the children worked in groups to make nests in the forest. Some of the children have chosen to plant a bean this week. We will water them and see if we can grow our very own beanstalks.

In PE we have been working on ball skills and in Religious Education we are thinking about the story of Zacchaeus - knowing that we can forgive others when they hurt us.

Thursday was World Book Day, the children had a book swap and received free World Book Day books. They loved reading with the parents who stayed in the morning - thank you so much to those of you who came along.

It was week 2 of The Rainbow Challenge.

Literacy task - write a list of tricky words

Maths task - to use the Unifix cubes to make 1-10

Well done to everyone who completed the challenge this week. There will be 3 challenges next week.

On Friday we have a science workshop - I will add some photographs.
