The Dentist

This week we have been reading the story of The selfish Crocodile. In the story the crocodile gets a sore tooth and the little mouse helps him. We have been talking about how we look after our teeth and what a trip to the dentists is like. Each child will have taken home a toothbrush and some toothpaste. We talked about the kinds of foods that are not healthy for our teeth and we made fairy wands.

In Maths we have been using positional language, on, under, next to, between, in front and behind. See if you can spot our photographs to demonstrate these words. We also looked at maps and simple directions, forwards, backward, up and down.

In literacy we are trying to write simple words and phrases. Some of the children are struggling with this so we are going to be sending home some writing homework each week for them to practise.

Religious Education was all about Jesus healing the man at the pool of Bethesda. The children acted out the story and talked about people that they know who are sick. We said prayers for them.

It has been very exciting seeing the children begin to explore, experiment and create a bit more this week. We have a new marble run and the children are absolutely loving it!
