6th-10th March Being Healthy

Being Healthy

The week started with the children making fruit salad. They had to wash, cut, peel and chop the fruit. We were then able to eat it for our snack. We used the photographs to make our own recipe book - the children wrote sentences explaining what to do. Some of the children even managed to use a capital letter and a full stop!

In Forest School we made potions - they came up with lots of lovely (or not so lovely) ideas about what happens to you if you drink their potion.

In maths we have been thinking about the numbers 1-8. The key phrase we have used is  ___ is more than ___.

The children have been using the jigsaw puzzles more this week - some of them are finding puzzles very difficult - this is something they could practise at home. If you do not have any jigsaws we would be happy to lend you some.

The Rainbow challenge has been very popular this week. The challenges were:-

to write the in all 'the' colours of the rainbow

     to order the digits 1-10

     to decorate a carrot.

Next week I am adding another challenge which is to zip up their coat independently.
