Class 6D

Summer Year 6 Curriculum Letter, Weekly Timetable, Homework Grid & Overview

Welcome to your child's last term at primary school and what a busy term it will be! We will continue to work hard academically but we will also be spending time helping your child prepare for secondary school. As well as that, we will be celebrating the time they have spent here at St. Philip Howard, however long or short that time may have been.

If you have any questions, I am available by email (pday@sphoward.herts.sch.uk) or most days after school.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mrs Day

Have a look at the homework grid for Spring below and see which activities you would like to do. Remember to upload your homework to Google Classroom or bring it into school once it's done. There are a wide range of challenging activities so have a go and most importantlly have fun! Let me know how you get on.

Mrs Day

Happy New Year to you all and welcome to the Spring Term. The new weekly timetable and curriculum letter are attached. If you have any queries, please do email or phone the school office and I will respond as soon as I can.

Kind Regards,

Mrs Day

Hello Yellow

On Friday 8th October, we all wore an item of yellow into school, and donated £1 to support the YoungMinds charity on World Mental Heath Day, bringing some sunshine to a cloudy October day!

Welcome to 6D!

My name is Mrs Day and am looking forward to teaching you all this year and getting you ready for senior school next year! Below you will find a summary of the subjects and topics we will covering this half term. This will be updated every half term with up to date information so please keep an eye out for new news.

Our weekly timetable is also attached, for your information, but is subject to change depending on special events and sometimes the weather!

This class page will also be updated regularly with pictures of us learning and work we are proud of. If you have any questions, please contact me via email pday.sphoward.herts.sch.uk

Homework Autumn 2021

We are taking a slightly different approach to homework this year. Children are still expected to read daily, for a minimum of 15-30 mins, but there will be no weekly maths or spelling homework. Instead, you will find a Homework Grid with a variety of different tasks uploaded each half term. You can complete as many of these tasks as you want to. Choose something that interests you and please bring in any completed tasks to show me.

Spellings

The statutory spelling lists below are the spellings that your child is expected to know by the end of KS2 (Year 6).

In class, we will revise and learn all of these spelling rules and patterns throughout the course of the year. Your child has their own spelling pathway on Spellzone that they should continue to work through independently.
