Easter Holidays

EASTER HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES - 13TH APRIL 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope that you are all keeping safe and well with your families.  Please say hello to your children from us.  We miss seeing and talking to them all - seeing their happy and smiley faces and listening to their conversations both with us and among their friends. We are sure that they are missing their friends too.

As this week would have been the second week of the Easter Holidays, we are not setting 'work' for the children.  We are giving you some ideas for activities which you might like to do with your child.   Please do not feel that you need to do these activities.  They are 'ideas'.  If you have other things which you would rather be doing with your child, please do these.  As long as your child is engaged in something that they enjoy doing, then it is certain that they are learning and developing.

If you look on the main page of the 'Home Learning', you will see that we have added links to Oxford Owl and Phonics Play.  These are useful if you wish to do some reading and phonics activities with your child.

The following link also gives you some ideas for 'Easter themed' activities linking to numbers and shapes; https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/easter-fun/

For RE activities, Miss McKeon has shared some Easter prayers / crafts and projects for Holy Week. It includes a project for the whole family to complete together.  Other activities can be found on this link;

As the weather is being particularly kind to us for the time being, it would be good to take this opportunity to build in a 'spring' walk with your child or, if you are fortunate to have a garden, to use this to look at what happens during spring and to talk about the changes which they can see happening in the natural world.  You could collect different objects outside and then make a 'spring' picture. If you do decide to do this, it would be lovely if you could take a photograph and email this to us to put up on the Class Pages.  Here is a photograph of an activity which the children did in school last week which we thought worked very well. Below are photographs of some other 'Easter/Spring' activities to try out too.

You might like to make a paper tulip - see below for a template and a photograph.

Here is a link too to print off a rainbow template from Twinkle.  We know that the children are colouring/making rainbows to put up in the windows of their homes. https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t-c-2548922-all-about-me-rainbow-activity-sheet

Please do look at the Class Pages where you will find the photographs which have been sent in this week from some of the children.  Please do continue to send in photographs which we can then upload for the children to view.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of the families in Nursery a restful and peaceful time during the Easter weekend.  We hope that the children remember to share their chocolate eggs with you!

With our best wishes,

Mrs. Claridge and Mrs. Badger
