Monday 18th October Literacy

Our story this morning was Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We read the story last week as we were thinking about comparisons and size in our maths. Today we focused on the structure of the story and the order in which things happen.

Some children made story maps to show their learning.

Some of the children made their owns books. They could choose t draw the pictures or cut them out and stick them. There was a word mat for any children that wanted to add some writing to their stories. I loved listening to the stories that they told me as they showed me their books.

The playdough was very popular and the children made bears, Goldilocks, bowls, chairs and beds.

Some of the children used their cutting and sticking skills to make puppets. They used the puppets to retell the story. The puppets are going home in the book bags so they can tell you the story too.

There were a wide variety of other activities which included the role play area - acting out the story, the writing area - making books, pictures and stickers and the construction area - building the Three Bears house.
