People Who Help Us - The Police

The children have had lots of fun thinking about the police. We read the book 'Cops and Robbers' and then enjoyed a variety of police related activities. Dressing up and playing in our class police station. We made prisons with the construction and using strips of paper, we had a go at collecting fingerprints (you may have questions why they came home with black finger tips) and we made our very own police badges.

Our writing activity was 'Wanted posters, we have been working on writing simple sentences this half term and we wrote two or three sentences on our wanted posters. Mrs Harvey-Smith is very proud of our writing, our next step is to make sure we are reading what we have written to ensure that it makes sense.

I have included one photograph from Tuesday when the police officers came to visit.
