Nursery C & Nursery B

Tuesday, 11th August 2020

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to send you all a quick message on both the Class Page and on the Home Learning Page to say hello and I do hope that you are all enjoying the summer holidays and keeping safe and well with your families.   It is certainly very hot at the moment so I hope that you are all managing to stay cool, maybe by doing some fun water activities outside.

We have a couple of birthdays happening during the holidays; Micah celebrated his 4th birthday on 22nd July and Joselyn will celebrate her birthday on 24th August.  On behalf of everyone, I would like to wish you both “Happy Birthday”.  I do hope that Micah had a nice birthday and that Joselyn has a lovely day for her birthday later this month.

For those Snowflakes who were in school before the end of term, how are your sunflowers doing?  Are they still growing?  With all of this lovely hot sunshine, they should be growing well now. I am sending you a photo of my sunflower which still hasn’t got any flowers yet!  I am also sending you all some photos of some very large sunflowers which I have seen when going on walks and runs around Barnet and Potters Bar.  I thought you would like to see them.   Some of them with the faces made me smile!

Anyway, I do hope that you all enjoy the rest of your summer holidays.  Keep safe and well and I look forward to seeing you all again in September.

My best wishes to you all.

July 2020             A Goodbye Poem

This poem is for every single Snowflake, as you leave us in Nursery and move on as you grow. It has been a joy and a pleasure to teach you all.

Thank you

Mrs Badger and Mrs Claridge

You are a very special person

                                And you should know,

How much we loved to have you in our care

How fast the time did go!

Please come back and visit us

As through the years you go

Try hard to learn all you can

There is so much to know

One thing we tried to teach you

To last your whole life through

Is to know that you are special

                                 Just because you are you,

"Teaching Your Child Through Play"

"Teaching Your Child Through Play"

I tried to teach my child with books.
He gave me only puzzled looks.

I tried to teach my child with words.
They passed him by often unheard.

Despairingly, I turned aside.
"How shall I teach this child?" I cried.

Into my hand he put the key
"Come," he said, "play with me."

May 2020

Please keep sending us your photographs we love seeing what the children are doing at home and it is a lovely way for them to see each other when we put them on the Class pages. We will also be using your photos to put into their Learning Journeys whilst they are Home Learning.

Thank you

Stay safe and well

Mrs Badger and Mrs Claridge

Thank you to those parents who have contacted us through our email accounts it is so lovely to see what your children are doing and it is a great way for them to know that we are still here and that we would like to know how they are getting on.

In both Snowflake classes the children all love to work with the playdough and we find that making our own is the cheapest way of keeping the classrooms stocked up with it. We would therefore like to share this simple but very effective recipe with you. ( Hope that now the shops are a bit more stocked up you will be able to get the ingredients).

You can make it with your children but just be careful as it is quite hot when it first comes out of the microwave. When it has cooled down they will love to help knead it.

Send us some photographs as you are making it or of the things you have made with it.

All best wishes

Mrs Badger and Mrs Claridge
