A note to the children

To all the children from Sunshine and Rainbow Class

We want you to know that we miss seeing you every day, we miss your smiley faces, your friendly chatter and even the constant questions.

We hope that you are adjusting to your new teachers (mum and dad), that you are having lots of fun, keeping fit and continuing to learn.

We would love to hear from you, to know how you are getting on and for you to share some of the exciting things you have been doing. Please email us (with help from mum, dad or an older sibling) and send us some photos. We will try and respond as quickly as we can.

A note to the parents

To all the parents

Firstly we want to say that in these very unusual and stressful times if you make it through to the end of each day and there have been smiles and laughter and you have been able to enjoy some quality time with your child / children then you are doing an amazing job.

The three prime areas in the Foundation Curriculum are:-

Communication and Language  – talking, listening, understanding
Physical development – all things physical, both gross and fine motor
Personal, Social and Emotional development – behaviours, attitudes, relationships

You can develop these three areas through any activities you may choose to do – cooking, gardening, playing games, den building, playing with their toys, reading and listening to books. Your child is always learning and the more that you engage with them in these activities, the more they will learn.

Do not put huge pressure on yourselves or the children but if you are able to spend some time each day to read (Bug Club books are online), write and look at some element of maths it will really help.

We will include ideas for arts and craft, Religious Education and Understanding of the world (science, geography, history) but you are probably covering most of this and feel very welcome to do your own thing.

Twinkl are offering parents a One Month Ultimate Membership. Go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS
There are lots of ideas for Easter activities as well as useful PowerPoints, worksheets and resources.

Please do not hesitate to email us if you have any queries, questions or photos to share (we could put some up on the Sunshine and Rainbow pages for others to see). We would love to know how you are getting on.

Keep safe, enjoy this time with your children as much as you can and keep in touch.
