Swipe contentScience - This week we started our new topic 'Human Senses'. We explored the question' What are you?'. Then we learnt about what a human is. We then worked in groups to draw a diagram of a human and then label the different body parts.
Computing: e-safety This week in computing we were learning how to search for images using the internet. It is important to use a safe search engines and also tell an adult if we see anything that makes us, scared, upset or we don't like.
Design and Technology/Forest School - This week we started our DT topic 'Shade and Shelter'. We looked at different shelters and discussed what a shelter is. We looked at the materials shelters are made from. During our forest school time we looked for possible animal shelters.
Geography - This week in geography we learnt that there are 7 continents and 5 oceans. We found naming the continents and oceans a little challenging. It might be a good idea to continue to explore this and practice at home.
Religious Education - Remembrance. This week we thought about Remembrance and the reasons why people wear poppies. We made poppies and took part in a minutes silence during whole school assembly on Friday.
English - This week we made a story map of the story 'Puffin Peter'. We then used the story map to retell the story to a friend.
Maths - This week we have been comparing different amounts using the words, greater than, less than and equal to. We have also started to record using comparison symbols <, > and =.
Art - Mix It! This week we started a new art topic callled 'Mix It!' We learnt that red, blue and yellow are primary colours and that purple, orange and green are secondary colours. We then had a go at mixing primary colours to make seconday colours.
