Swipe contentHello Year 2,
We hope you are well. We really enjoyed speaking to you all during the week. We loved hearing all about the wonderful things you have been doing at home. Keep up the hard work!
Let us start this new week with a prayer. You could learn this prayer and say it in the morning and before you go to bed.
Angel of God
Angel of God
My guardian dear,
To whom God's love
Commits me here;
Ever this day (night)
Be at my side.
To light and guard,
To rule and guide.
Amen
Have a lovely week.
Miss Conway & Mrs Browne
RE - The Ascension
Read p77 and p78 with an adult.
Discuss with an adult the questions in 'Pause to talk' section.
You have 4 tasks to complete , some are written tasks and some are questions for discussion.
There is an image of Jesus ascending into Heaven for you to write about in Task 4. You could also draw your own image of The Ascension.
Reading - Bug Club
A note for our parents -
We can see that many of the children have been reading lots of books in Bug Club which is fantastic. However, some children are rushing through the books too quickly and are not completing the questions.
(These are the little bugs that pop up on the page.)
We won't receive a notification that your child needs new books if they have not completed all of the
questions. If they have lots of books in their library it means they haven't completed all of the questions.
We have now set a limit of two books per week per child as some children are completing one level in one week!
In school children would usually take a half a term to complete one level.
For some of the children we have disabled the 'read to me' function to ensure they are reading the books independently.
Please can you make sure your child reads and understands the text before they move onto the next book. In the quiz, they should be aiming for mostly green answers with one or two amber.
If your child has scored many amber or red in the quiz it would be a good idea for them to read the book again.
BorrowBox App
This is an app that you can download and read ebooks and listen to audio books for free. You need to then login with your library card number and PIN. There are a wide range of books for the children to enjoy.
Thank you and keep up the great reading!

Science - Plants
This week we are starting a new topic called Plants!
Read through the PowerPoint presentation to learn all about observing plants. To complete this weeks activities you can choose from one of the worksheets below or even better, go for a walk or go outside and about talk about all the different parts of the plants with your family. The worksheets can be used as guidance to guide your questioning.
When you are on your daily walk with your family you should:
- Name the different parts of the plants and discuss their functions
- Name the different parts of the trees and discuss their functions
- Name as many wild flowers as you can. How many did you see?
Art
Have a look at the daisy images below and create one of your own. Be as creative as you can. You could use cotton balls, cotton buds, cup cake cases or if you prefer you could simply draw one. Have fun!
