You made it to the end!

Well home learners, this is it, the last week. We were so happy to see you on Zoom last week and sorry that we didn't get to finish the school year all together. We are very proud of how well you have all worked. Do not worry about next year, Miss Hughes and Mrs Ives know that you may have some gaps in your learning and they will go over things that you may have missed out on. That doesn't mean that you get to waste the summer holidays!! You must read regularly, look at last week's page and join the library Summer reading challenge. Keep your times tables up to scratch, Year 5 is not the time to start learning them!

Have a wonderful summersmiley

Religious Education

Monday 11am join the local Catholic schools for mass. https://www.churchservices.tv/pottersbar.

Look at the powerpoint about the Beatitudes, these are very important teachings from Jesus about how we should live our life.

Look at the blessings sheet and complete it, we have lots of things to be thankful for, we should count our blessings!

English

This week we are going to have a go at writing some acrostic poems about objects you may find around the house.

Have a look at the acrostic poem resource for some suggestions and examples.

You also have a booklet to complete, letting your new teacher know all about you, bring it to school with you when you come in September. This will take you two days to complete because you will need to think about each section and complete it using your best handwriting and spelling (make a good impression!)

Maths

This week is all about graphs, as we break up from school on Wednesday there are only three days of maths lessons.

Try to make sure over the holidays that you remember to practise your times tables, in Year 5 you are expected to know them all, so brush up those skills.

Also have a go at using column addition and subtraction, to make sure that you can use it correctly. You may want to have another try at the formal method of multiplication that we did a few weeks ago. But don't panic Miss Hughes and Mrs Ives will go back over things with you in September.
