W/C 22nd June 2020

Dear Year 4

We hope you are all well and doing your best to keep up with your home learning. It feels like a very long time since we were all together. We may see some of you on a Zoom call in the next week or so, fingers crossed.

Please let us know how you are getting on, by blogging or emailing us, and remember that you can leave a message for us at the school office if you need our help with anything.

Stay safe

Religious Education

This week follows on from last week's work about Saul. After he became a Christian, he still had a very tough job ahead of him.

Using the resources below:

Read Paul 1 to an adult, then talk about the discussion points together.

Read Paul 2, and complete activities 1 & 2

Read Paul 3 and complete the writing activities.

Have a go at making a model of Paul escaping in a basket.

Maths

This week we are looking at decimals, it is linked to the work you did a few weeks ago. As always, watch the video and stop to practice when it asks you to.

English

This week we are using a different resource for English. There is a lesson for each day, click on the link below and scroll down the page until you find the lessons for NON-CHRONOLOGICAL REPORTS.

https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-year/year-4/subjects/english/

For each lesson there is: a quiz, a video, a worksheet, a final quiz.

Non-Chronological Reports

This week:

Lesson 1 - Reading comprehension word meaning

Lesson 2 - Reading comprehension  structure

Lesson 3 - Identifying the features of a text

Lesson 4 - SpaG focus

Lesson 5 - Write a non-chronological report

Science

Art and Creative Learning

To link in with our science topic have look at the link below for the artist Levon Biss, he takes incredible close up photos of insects, what do you think about them?  http://microsculpture.net/levon_biss.html

Have a go at drawing your own insects, there are links below for help drawing a fly or a beetle.

Then you can turn your insect into something like this, using water  colours or pastels. It can be lifelike or your own colourful creation. Please send us a photo or upload onto the blog.

Have fun!
