Religious Education

This week we are learning that the church building is a holy place where we can all pray and are welcome. Share the story about Mrs Stone’s class visiting the church. Talk with your child about what you see when you visit the church, things in the church and people.

At this point in the year we teach the children the words to go with making the sign of the cross. (Up until this point we say “from my head to my heart, from my shoulder to my shoulder” to help them learn the sign of the cross originally). Please teach your child the words “In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” as they are making the sign of the cross.

Activities:

Write the words onto the cross, or use the template with the words on, and colour/ decorate the cross.

Role play some of the things that happen in Church.
