Science

WALT: Name the different parts of a flower.

History

WALT-  Understand historical concepts such as continuity and change, cause and consequence, similarity, difference and significance, and use them to make connections.

Activity 1-

Use a range of different source materials, including the web (links below) to find out how and why Stone Age people evolved from hunter-gatherers to farmers. Now create an advert for the sale of a small settlement and farm, which highlights the benefits of a more modern way of life.

Challenge: Do you think this improved the environment or damaged it?

Activity 2-

If you were to be a hunter gatherer now, what plants would you use that grow near you now?

Design and Technology

In the stone age they used to use natural things to dye their clothing. Can you research what natural plants/fruits/spices you could use to dye fabric. Create a poster on the different natural things that could be used or what they would have used and what colours they might make.

Challenge- If you have a plain white piece of cotton or fabric, try to use different natural plants/fruits/spices to dye the fabric.
