Good Morning Home Learners

We hope you had a lovely time in the sunshine last week, we needed a paddling pool at school! The summer holidays are nearly here, so don't give up yet, just a few more weeks of home learning and then a well earned rest for you all.

Remember to complete the Spellzone tasks, quite a few forgot last week! Also, we would love to see some new people blogging and posting photos of their artwork.

Have a good week and don't forget we are still your teachers, so if you need help get in touch with uswink

Maths

Watch the video clip for that day's lesson, pause when it asks you to, so that you can have a go. It is very helpful to watch with an adult, so that they can help you. If you are watching by yourself and you are finding it hard, watch the clip again until you understand it more. Remember to check your work, with the answer sheet. .

English

This week you will be looking at a rap that persuades people to look after the planet and then, at the end of the week, you will be writing a persuasive rap of your own.

This is where you will find the English resources for this week. Scroll down to Persuasive Writing.

Monday - Fact retrieval

Tuesday - Summary

Wednesday - Identify the features

Thursday - Imperative & modal verbs

Friday - Write persuasive rap.

The Spellzone task this week is linked to the spellings in this unit of work.

SCIENCE

In class, we have been looking at habitats, in particular the school wood. We have seen lots of invertebrates and heard lots of birds. We even had a magpie in the classroom Wednesday evening! Perhaps, a little too close to nature for the cleaner :)

We haven't spotted any reptiles, amphibians or mammals yet.

Religious Education

This week we are going to be thinking about the teachings of the apostles and how their words can guide us in our lives. Look at the resource below and read each of the scripture quotes. Talk about these with an adult and then think of a time in your life when the quote might help you.  Match the quote to something that has happened to you and how the teaching of the Apostles could help you.

Have you ever thought about why we sometimes say disciples and other times say apostles?

Watch this short clip which will help to explain the difference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lAnKjMNras
