W/C 6th July 2020

Dear Year 6,

This is the last full week of Year 6! Well done for keeping up with the home learning - you have all done incredibly well. If you have any queries regarding the details for next week, please contact us to clarify the plans.

We will be phoning this week, those of you who haven't returned to school for a final catch up before school finishes.

Take care,

Mrs Day & Miss Goss

Maths - Angles

More new learning this week, Angles, although it is closely linked to other topics we have covered together previously.

Day 1 - Vertically opposite angles

Day 2 - Angles in triangles

Day 3 - Angles in quadrilaterals

Day 4 - Angles in polygons

Day 5 - Friday Family Maths Challenges

Each day has a series of questions which lead you through the learning. Show your work in your pink home learning journals or in your yellow maths jotter books. There are answers, with explanations, for each day's work so you can mark your work when you have completed it.

Here is a link to the website where you can access the videos prior to each lesson: (summer term week 11)

Friday's family maths challenges consist of 10 challenges:

* Challenges 1-6 age related for Year 6.

* Challenges 7-10 above age related for Year 6.

Good luck!

English - Pobble365

This week we would like use the pobble website again to complete some sentence level work, grammar work and some extended story writing based on an image called 'The Mysterious Door.'

We have chosen an image for Monday 6th July 2020. Please complete the work in your pink jotter books or on paper.

Guided Reading - Cogheart

We have finished reading Cogheart in school and have written some letters to Peter Bunzl, the author, to tell him how much we have enjoyed it. You can find his publicist's address on his website and his email if you wish to email him your opinion on the book.

Quite a few of the class have also purchased the next book(s) in the series. Below are some comprehension and deeper inference style questions on the last few chapters, depending on how far you have read up to! Enjoy reading the ending - it's got lots of plot twists and turns!
