Our new topic this term is all about people who help us. Last week looked at all the different jobs and thought about what we might like to be when we grow up. This week we focused on Dentists. They are special doctors who check our teeth are healthy. We thought a lot about how to look after our teeth and practised our brushing skills. We even created some art using toothbrushes. We also talked about healthy habits to keep our teeth healthy. It is important to brush twice a day and eat a healthy balanced diet. We talked and sorted, healthy and unhealthy foods.
In maths we were practising positional language; on, in, under, beside, next to, over, in front, behind. We also thought about directional language; forwards, backwards, right, left, up, down. We created maps using directional words that described a journey.
This term in literacy we are aiming to write simple sentences. We had a go at writing ‘He can brush his teeth.’ We have been practising spelling and writing our tricky words and writing on the line.
In Our special time with God, we have been learning more about Jesus. We listened to a story about Jesus healing the man that could not walk, by say ‘Get up, pick up your mat and walk.’
We have worked very hard and the children have also been making links in their child initiated play as well as exploring their own creative ideas.
"We are part of God's family. We follow the way of Jesus by loving, learning and doing our best."
Awards we have achieved so far.
