Week 12
Mr Gumpy’s Outing
On Monday we talked about Sunday being the first Sunday of Advent. Advent is a time to prepare for Christmas. We have changed our prayer table to purple and have added an Advent wreath and calendar. We started decorating our classroom, making paper chains and adding bubbles to out tree.
Our story this week was Mr Gumpy’s Outing. Mr Gumpy and some animals went on a boat ride. We had a go at drawing some of the animals from the story then using our sounds to write name labels for each animal.
In maths we were learning about patterns, we had a go at making our own repeating patterns. A repeating pattern is when there is the same thing over and over again.
In forest school we collected colourful leaves to make a Christmas wreath and hung it in the forest.
The children have been very busy during their learning through play, making links with learning taught this week and also following their own interests.
