Week 14

The Nativity

What a cold and snowy week we have had! The children have been brilliant as we have not been able to spend much time outside.

We managed to go out for Forest School on Tuesday and the forest looked magical. We had hot chocolate with marshmallows and the cakes the Sunshine children had baked with Miss Aitken in the morning and Rainbow children decorated.

In Literacy we read the nativity story again and the children drew their own picture of the characters in the stable. They had a very good go at writing initial sounds too.

In maths this week we have been working on numbers up to five and thinking about the term equal.

In our phonics we have spent a lot of time practising the formation of letters a, g, d, c.

Each day we have been out for a short time to play in the snow and do some sledging down the hill. Some of the children have chosen to stay inside in the warm to play.

On Friday we had a special visitor. Santa came to say hello and check we have been good. It’s been a very exciting week!
