Take a look at some of our recent photos.
Swipe contentThis week were still exploring Jack and the Beanstalk. We have read many versions of the story.
In literacy we drew a picture from the story and the wrote a matching sentence. We are working hard what we want to write and checking to see if we have included all the words we wanted to. Not forgetting to use a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end.
In maths we have been revising our subitising skills. That means looking at and knowing an amount without having to count it. We have also been exploring even numbers as doubles. We can recognise doubles and show them on our fingers eg. We know that 3 and 3 make 6, 6 is made of 3 and 3. We are beginning to use ten frames to represent doubles.
Our PE focus word was through.
We were also very lucky to have a Hungry Caterpillar workshop from HCL, we listened to 'The very hungry caterpillar' story. Then made our own caterpilar using delicious fruits and vegatables, we even tried some spinach. The children were very good at 'trying' something they were on sure of and loved creating food. This made it fun and encourage then to eat. Something you might like to try at home if you have a fussy eater.
We hunted for minibeasts in Forest School.
The Rainbow Challenge was ...
- making or drawing a castle.
- making a pattern of 6.
- draw and label a minibeast.
