Week 3 - 18.09.23

English: We discussed what you need to remember to write a good label. We also learned what a caption is and we wrote our own captions. We have started to look at a new book 'Stanley's Stick'. We went outside and we each collected a stick. We thought about what our sticks could be and we wrote a label for our sticks.

Science: As a whole class and afterward working in small groups, we paired cards by the natural material and an item made from them e.g. wood and chair, leather and shoe.

RE - The Story of Creation - we painted 'The World' and drew pictures to represent one of the seven days of Creation.

PE - Jungle Dance - listening to music and moving in time - making slow movements with our arms, pretending to be the branches of trees swaying in the wind. Then, we moved in sequence to represent a sunrise.

Maths - we had lots of opportunities to represent 5 and a bit more (6, 7, 8 and 9) using counters and cubes.

History - we made a list of words which we know relate to time. We had opportunities to build something from a long time ago using various construction.

Computers - we are continuing to practise logging on independently and saving our 'drawings' by typing our names.

Art - 'Funny Face Collages' - using scissors and glue, we cut out funny facial features and stuck them to create a Funny Face.
