Swipe contentThis week we read a book call 'Charlie the Firefighter.' In our literacy time we had a go at writing labels and a sentence using the tricky word 'he' about the firefighters uniform. Unfortunately Mrs James i-pad had broke so we have lost the pictures from Monday and Tuesday's learning. Luckily we manage to get hold of a camera and captured the firefighters visit on Wednesday. The Firefighters talked to the children about their job and told the children what they should do if there is a fire in their house. One of the things they asked the children was if they know their address? It is important that they know their door number and road so that they could get help in an emergency - there is a bit of homework for them!
In maths we have made and copied patterns of numbers, recognising amounts by looking at dots. This made of think of the dots on a dice. We had fun playing dice games. This is something you could enjoy playing as a family at home. We also learnt how to make a moving picture. Lots of children wanted to do this activity. It was quite tricky cutting the card needed but they were very proud of the end creation.
Some children showed fantastic creativity and team work during their learning through play. Over a couple of days they worked together to make a fire engine. What a fun learning week!
