Week 4 - 25.09.23
Summer Reading Challenge - Well done to those children who completed the Summer Reading Challenge - proudly receiving their certificates from Mrs. Gajjar in the whole school assembly.
RE - We listened to the story of Adam and Eve. We thought about whether we make the wrong choice sometimes. We worked together to sort out the scenario cards as to whether they were 'friendly' or 'unfriendly'. We made a Sorry Card for someone who we may have acted wrongly to.
English - Stanley's Stick - we looked at what we need in order to write a good sentence. As a whole class, we made a list of things which Stanley might catch with his 'fishing rod' stick. We then wrote our own sentence in our books.
Maths - we looked at making 10 , showing 5 and 5 with cubes. We used rekenreks to show 5 and some more to make 6, 7, 8, 9. We are learning to move counters together with one push.
Computers - we named different parts of a computer and a laptop. Working in partners, we logged on and practised moving objects on a screen.
PE - Jungle Dance - we learned the next part of our Jungle Dance. We pretended we were giraffes and zebras and moved in time to the counts in the music. We sequenced sections of the dance and performed it in small groups to the rest of the class.
Art - we looked at a selection of portraits by artists and made comparisons between them. We chose one of the portraits and looked closely at the detail before sketching a version into our books. We looked at the colour and selected appropriate colours for our own portrait.
