Week 5 - 02.10.23
English - Continuing with the book Stanley's Stick - discussing rhyme and writing poems in small groups. We read our poems to each other. On Wednesday, we took part in an online, live Poetry Workshop for National Poetry Day on 5th October 2023. The workshop was lead by Simon Mole, author and poet, and was organised by Hertfordshire Libraries for primary schools across Hertfordshire. The children read 'A First Book of Dinosaurs' together and then we made a whole class poem entitled 'My Herd'.
Maths - Comparison - using vocabulary 'more than', 'fewer than', 'greater than', 'less than', 'equal to'
RE - God's World - We wrote a sentence about what we do directly to help to look after God's world. We wrote a prayer to ask God to help us to look after the world. We put these on to our Class Prayer Tree.
Art - We chose from a variety of different materials e.g. paper, buttons, pipe cleaners, to create our own 'funny' portraits.
Computers - using a trackpad by clicking and dragging to create a picture.
PE - Jungle Dance - continuing to add sections to the dance - this week we had to move to music as lions and parrots
History - We have learned about the 6 Stages of Life and sequenced these in our books.
Music - We used xylophones to tap the beat in the music.
