Week 5

Lost and Found - What makes a good friend?

This week we read a beautiful story called ‘Lost and found’, all about friendship. We had a think about what makes a good friend and collectively wrote a poem about friendship. We have also been getting creative and making friendly faces. Both using the creative area in the classroom and exploring for natural objects in Forest School. In maths we were helping Greeny the dinosaur to count very carefully using 1:1 touch and move, saying the number as we touch the item. We then learnt how to count larger objects that we can not touch and move. We used 'counting wands’ to count the big things. The children have been playing phonics games to help them learn sounds and we have practised writing the letters. In RE we have continued learning how to look after God’s world. Some children drew colours linked to the creation story on plates to tell the story, what a wonderful idea. On Thursday there was a fire drill and the children lines up outside on the grass beautifully. We had our first  Pen disco on Friday this will help us develop our fine motor skills, we all made wonderful circles. In PE we worked on our balancing skills.
