Wow! We have crammed alot into this week, including World Book Day and a visit from scientists in preparation for science week. We started the week by reading, Jasper's Beanstalk. Each day Jasper did something with his bean as he waited for it to grow. It might be a nice idea to practise the days of the week at home and maybe even plant something.
We had a go at writing a sentence to match a picture from the story.
In maths we have been looking at 5 and some more and making towers from 1 to 10, thinking about how it grows by one moe each time. We have also been helping Greeny count all the way to 30, its easy when you know the pattern of one more.
In forest school we looked for signs of Spring, we found bluebells. We also made nests for the baby birds born in Spring.
We read 'Jack and the Beanstalk', and planted a bean to see if it would grow like the beanstalk in the story, thank goodness it didnt. We are still waiting on it to grow. We have been thinking about how to look after plants to help them grow.
On World book day, some parents came in to read to us, we also swapped books, sang nursery rhymes, did a jumoing challenge and Mrs Harvey-Smith visited our class and read us a story.
We enjoyed investigating materials with the scientist.
