Take a look at some of our recent photos.
Swipe contentThis week we read a story called Handa's Surprise. Lots of the fruit in the story does not grow in England. We talked about what fruits do and do not grow in England. We then made a delicious fruit salad. We washed our hands, chopped, peeled, mixed and most importantly ate our fruit salad. We used the photographs to help us write instructions, telling people how to make a fruit salad.
In Forest School we made Springtime perfumes. We had lots of fun, sniffing, mashing and mixing our creations.
In maths we have been thinking about the numbers 1-8. The key phrase we have used is ___ is more than ___.
This helped us order tower amounts. We had fun exploring who was more (taller) between our friends. We are continuing to practise counting beyond 20 but lots of us are finding the teen numbers tricky and are getting mixed up. This will be a good thing to practise at home, making sure we are saying the 'teen' very clearly.
We worked hard in RE, writing I am sorry prayers and retelling the story of Zacchaeus.
Some of us are getting very good at writing simple sentences. It is very tricky but we are using our knowledge of sounds and tricky words to help.
The Rainbow challenge has been very popular this week. The challenges were:-
to write the in all 'the' colours of the rainbow
to order the digits 1-10
to decorate a carrot.
Next week I am adding another challenge which is to zip up their coat independently.
"We are part of God's family. We follow the way of Jesus by loving, learning and doing our best."
Awards we have achieved so far.
