Week 9

Week 9 - We’re going on a bear hunt.

This week we continued with our story, ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’, but this time we thought about what the characters might, feel, see, hear and taste on their journey. We went on a word hunt, using our phonics skills to sound out and blend to read words, then find the matching picture.
In maths we have been concentrating on the number 5. We noticed that we have 5 fingers on one hand and you can find a 5 spot pattern on a dice. We had fun finding five things, using our fingers to help or the dice pattern. We have continued to learn about being God’s family. We looked at an artist called Kandinsky. We looked at his painting called ‘Squares and Concentric Circles’, to inspire us to make our own shape paintings. Friday we went on our own journey with our Year 5 buddies. We explored Stream Woods, looking around for signs of Autumn.
