RE - Sunshine

Welcome to our Religious Education page.

The Catholic faith is very much part of our day to day routine in Sunshine Class. We pray together first thing in the morning, before lunch and at the end of the day. There is a very special prayer table in our classroom, we use it to help us focus when we are learning about God, worshipping or praying.

Spring 1 - Galilee to Jerusalem

This term we will be following the story of Jesus from his birth in Bethlehem to his adult life in Jerusalem. We learn about the visit of the three wise men, about how Jesus came to show his love to each one of us and then we learn about how Jesus loves the little children and the feeding of the 5000. We will also be learning about Catholic Social Teaching and how we are called to help the poor and hungry.

Sunshine 2026 Spring 1

Autumn 2 - Prophesy and Promise

This term we will be looking towards Christmas. We will learn more about Mary, the angels, the shepherds and the nativity story. We have started the term learning about Remembrance.

Autumn 1 Creation and Covenant

We are learning about creation. God made the world and he was pleased with what he had made. We will learn about how the world was made and how God made each one of us unique and loves each one of us very much. We will go on to learn about the family of the church and how we become part of this family through baptism.

Catholic Social Teaching - We are called to care for God's creation.

The Feast of St Philip Howard is on Oct 19th. We learned about Saint Philip and his dog. We talked about loyalty and friendship. We all made friendship bracelets.
