60th Anniversary Celebrations
Celebrating 60 Years of St Philip Howard
In 2019, our school community came together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of St Philip Howard Catholic Primary School. Pupils, staff, families, governors, and parishioners joined in a joyful day of thanksgiving and celebration.
The occasion included a special Mass which was celebrated by Bishop Paul, Father Norbert and Father Livie. There were many guests; the Mayor, headteachers from other schools in Hatfield, former members of staff and former pupils as well as parents and governors!
There was also an open evening to share fond memories, where pupils gave guided tours around the school to see all the changes over the last 60 years. Then within the hall there was 6 decades worth of memorabilia on display from uniforms, reports and class photos.
We also had a new St Philip Howard Banner, exquisitely made by Mrs Rosie Ratcliffe, who was both a pupil and parent of our school. Which hangs proudly in the school foyer.
It was a wonderful way to gather together in faith and friendship, honour our history, celebrate the present, and look forward with hope to the future of our school.
