Building the Kingdom- Oracy for Advocacy

Over the Autumn term, Year 5 pupils from our school as well as other local Catholic schools; Pope Paul, Our Lady's, Holy Family and Nicholas Breakspear, took part in the Oracy for Advocacy project.

It started with the children talking about something they were passionate about infront of the school and then other children from the other local schools, this then progressed as the children then worked in groups talking about leadership and Catholic Social Teaching values that they felt passionate about.

In their groups they created posters on the Catholic Social Teaching values they felt passionate about. The year fives wrote their own speeches that they then presented to the other schools and answered questions.

During the day 4 of the children presented their own speeches that they had been preparing by themselves with the themes of; Fairtrade, Climate Change, What makes a great leader  and Why we (as a school) have a foodbank.

All of the children represented themselves so well. They spoke with passion, knowledge and with confidence. Showing us what future leadership should look like!
