Sunshine Week 8 - Jack and the Beanstalk

 The week Ahead

In our phonics this week, we will be looking at the digraphs ur and ow as well as recapping our previously learnt graphemes and tricky words. 

Our topic book this week is Jack and the Beanstalk. We will be thinking about the events that take place in the book and how the beanstalk grew. Linking to our overarching topic of Ready Steady Grow this half term, we will be exploring in more depth how plants grow, and even planting our very own beanstalks to see how they grow. 

Our Drawing club book this week is The Little Red Hen, and we will continue to begin writing our own independent code sentences. 

This Thursday is also World Book Day, meaning we have lots of fun activities lined up, starting with our Stay and Read on Thursday morning. The children will be thinking about their favourite book characters, making bunting and will even have a surprise visit from another teacher to read them a book.
