Week 6 Heritage Week

 What a fantastic week we have had celebrating our classes' diverse heritage.

Our Drawing Club book was 'Your World, My World' which spoke about the differences and similarities of us. We drew 2 different types of houses, our countries traditional clothes and our favourite foods.

Here is a list of the exciting things we have done this week;

- Learnt the Danke dance from Lebanon

- Created Nigerian tribal hand prints

- Made flags

- We pinpointed all of the places that are part of child's heritage. (What the children told us)

- We had stories read in Romanian, Polish and Italian

- We dressed in our traditional clothes/ clothes the colours of our flag, and we spoke about the differences and similarities. The children all looked incredible!

- We had Ciana from year 1 come and show us some Irish dancing.

- In RE, we learnt about different celebrations in different countries; Pancake Week in Russia, Christmas in UK and Ukraine, Carnival in Brazil, Eid in Afghanistan and Lebanon and Diwali in Sri Lanka.

- We made maracas and had our own Brazilian Samba Parade

- On Friday, we had a party, dancing and playing games from all around the world. We also enjoyed some yummy food that our grown ups bought in. Thank you again for the delicious food.
