Week 1 The Tiny Seed

This week we read the story The Tiny seed. We talked about what seeds need to grow such as soil, water and sunshine. We looked in the garden at some seeds we planted before Easter to see the growth, the children were able to see leaves and stems beginning to come out of the soil. We created flowers using cake cases as well as cutting our own petals to copy a flower shape.

In maths, we looked at patterns. The children were asked to spot mistakes in the patterns the grown ups had made and then try to make their own. They were very good at using colours to make their patterns.
