Week 3 - Librarians

The Library

The highlight of the week was our trip to Hatfield library. We were very fortunate to be accompanied by lots of parents and we all really enjoyed the trip. Hatfield Library is a lovely place with hundreds of books to choose from. It is completely free to join, if you are not yet a member I recommend you visit soon and get yourselves a  library card. (I think you just need some ID as proof of address)

Our Drawing Club has been based on the animation Bananaman. The children have been thinking of creative ways to keep the bananas safe and have used 'I can....'  sentences for their codes this week.

The children have also loved making their own little books this week. We have had some amazing writing.

As it was library book the children brought in their favourite books and told us why they like them. I have made some slides so that you can see what the children said.

In maths we have been thinking about ordering and matching quantities from 1-5 with numerals. We have also been noticing the one more pattern as we built each quantity with our cubes.

We missed Forest School due to the high winds.

In Religious Education we talked about what we need to survive in contrast to what we might want. The children had some really sensible ideas. We also thought about what we can do to make sure others have what they need to survive. We read the story of The Good Samaritan.

Remember that there is a Stay and Read session next Wednesday morning - we look forward to seeing you all then.
